Today 

Heute ist der Tag, an dem es für mich zählt. Der Launch die­ser Sei­te ist end­lich gekom­men, und mei­ne Freu­de ist natür­lich groß.
Die Idee, eine eige­ne Golf­sei­te zu machen, auf der ich mei­ne eige­ne Mei­nung über die­sen coo­len Sport und all sei­ne Facet­ten kund­tun kann, liegt mir sehr am Her­zen. Wie die Kate­go­rien oben in der Leis­te zei­gen, habe ich mir dabei sehr viel vorgenommen.
Es gibt Rei­se­be­rich­te, Neu­es von den Tou­ren, Tests, Inter­views und auch eini­ge ganz spe­zi­el­le Din­ge. Ich möch­te Golf auf die­ser Sei­te so beschrei­ben, wie ich es ken­nen und vor allem lie­ben gelernt habe. Golf macht Spaß. Golf kann auch cool sein, und man trifft vor allem jede Men­ge net­te Leute.

Was mir gera­de in Deutsch­land fehlt, ist in ande­ren Län­dern selbst­ver­ständ­lich. Man kann mit ein paar Spezln los­zie­hen und ein­fach Gol­fen. Auch neh­men sich die „Inter­na­tio­nals“ beim Schlä­ger­schwin­gen nicht so wich­tig und ernst. Sie gehen auf den Platz, um zu ent­span­nen und eine gute Zeit zu haben. Denn sie haben erkannt, dass sie im Gegen­satz zu einem Pro­fi, eben nicht ihren Lebens­un­ter­halt mit dem Golf­spiel ver­die­nen müs­sen. Ich fin­de es sehr scha­de, dass Golf in mei­nem eige­nen Land, sei es von der Poli­tik, der Pro­mi­nenz oder der all­ge­mei­nen Öffent­lich­keit immer wie­der geschnit­ten wird. Dabei üben gera­de vie­le deut­sche Sport­ler und Pro­mi­nen­te Golf als Hob­by mit gro­ßer Lei­den­schaft aus. Ob Fuß­bal­ler, Win­ter­sport­ler, Renn­fah­rer, Ten­nis­spie­ler oder „Eis­hack­ler“, jedem scheint das Gol­fen rie­si­gen Spaß zu machen.

Doch ich will mich hier erst ein­mal (!) nicht beschwe­ren. Viel mehr will ich ver­su­chen Gol­fin­ter­es­sier­ten aber auch Nicht­gol­fern die­sen wirk­lich ein­zig­ar­ti­gen Sport etwas näher zu brin­gen. Auf mei­nen Rei­sen rund um den Glo­bus seit mehr als 15 Jah­ren, ist in Sachen Geschich­ten auf- und abseits des Plat­zes jede Men­ge zusam­men­ge­kom­men. Die­ses möch­te ich hier mit Euch tei­len. Zum Start der Sei­te sind Today (live/blog) Tra­vel, Tour/Videos und Spe­cials frei­ge­schal­ten. Im Lau­fe der nächs­ten Zeit kommt natür­lich jede Men­ge wei­te­rer Con­tent (in Deutsch, Eng­lisch oder bei­den Spra­chen) dazu.

Today is the day when things final­ly count for me. It’s time to launch this site and my joy obvious­ly is huge.
The idea to estab­lish my own golf­pa­ge whe­re I can express my opi­ni­on on this cool sport in all its aspects has been dear to my heart. As you can see from the cate­go­ries in the menu bar, I have a lot to live up to.
The­re will be tra­vel sto­ries, news from the tours, pro­duct tests, inter­views ans also some spe­cial fea­tures. I want to descri­be golf in a way I came to know and love. Golf is fun. Golf can also be real­ly cool and most of all you meet a lot of real­ly nice people.

What I feel is miss­ing in Ger­ma­ny, comes natu­ral in other count­ries: to just infor­mal­ly set off and play golf with your bud­dies. „Inter­na­tio­nals“ also don’t take things as serious as over here. They just go out to relax and have a good time. They reco­gni­ze that other than a pro­fes­sio­nal they not gon­na have to earn money with play­ing golf. It’s a real pity that in my coun­try golf is igno­red by poli­tics and the gene­ral public most of the time. Yet the­re are a lot of Ger­man cele­bri­ties and ath­le­tes that are very pas­sio­na­te about golf. Foot­ball play­ers, win­ter­sport ath­le­tes, racers, ten­nis play­ers or ice­ho­ckey cracks, all of them seem to have a ton of fun when out on the course.

But to start things I don’t want to com­plain too much. Much rather I want to give peo­p­le inte­res­ted in golf and non-gol­fers a deeper under­stan­ding of this tru­ly uni­que sport. Tra­vel­ling the glo­be for more than 15 years, I came across a lot of sto­ries on- and off the cour­se. This is the plat­form whe­re I want to share some of them with you.
